Summary |
Safeguarding public spaces is a fundamental priority in European cities, as they are exposed to various threats. Despite notable technological advancements and numerous initiatives undertaken to raise awareness in this area, the essential pillar of protecting these spaces lies within the police forces: their presence, the tools at their disposal, their training, the degree of cooperation, and their connection with citizens. PACTESUR2 involves 4 emblematic cities (Nice, Madrid, Turin, and Liege), 12 cities representing the diversity of Europe, and more than a thousand European cities that will disseminate the project through the networks of Efus and ANCI. The main objective is to enhance the protection of public spaces by optimizing the development and implementation of best practices at the local level, through the organization of high-level training courses for Local Police forces. The exchange between the involved cities during these events forms the two main pillars to strengthen the skills of our police forces, improve the training of participants, and reinforce the image of cooperation among the police forces of different European cities. Another fundamental objective is to improve both the security of our public spaces and citizens' perception thereof. Simultaneously, PACTESUR2 promotes cooperation among European countries. |
