Madrid accompanies you is a good neighbourhood project that connects people who are over 65 years of age registered in the city of Madrid with Voluntari@s por Madrid.
Through a simple mobile application developed by Microsoft and the IAM (Madrid City Council IT), any elderly person can request the company of a volunteer to accompany them to the doctor, to go shopping, for a walk, to take the pet out, to go to the cinema, to carry out administrative formalities, to accompany them to hospitals...
This project encourages generosity, friendship, relationships, good neighbourliness... It does not, under any circumstances, replace jobs that must be paid for. The company of a volunteer will mean not only being able to continue to lead a normal life, but also the possibility of establishing good neighbourly relations and solidarity friendships.
